The St. Patrick's Day Celebration planning committee first met Wednesday Jan. 11th at the Easton Resource Center to get work started for this years event - the 30th Anniversary of favorite celebration in Easton. Committee members new and experience will help make this one of the best events in recent years with some changes, additions as well as your old favorites. Visitors can expect events to start and end around the typical times as years past with some changes or overlaps during the day. Holiday Shopping & Dining Promotion in 2011 a success!
The first annual Shopping and ding promotion held through the end of November through Dec 17th in 2011 was considered a shinning success by merchants and participants alike! The promotin was developed as a way to encourage shopping and dining in the downtown area while also thanking shoppers for spending their money in Easton's downtown - a hub for small independant restaurants and retailers.
"This year we really wanted to bring the spirit of the holiday to our promotions while also reminding folks why small independents are important - I think we made a good first effort at that" stated Main Street Manager Katie Clendaniel. She noted that participation was exceptional in 2011 and believed that the number of merchants and restaurants that will participate next year will increase.
