 
Jane Bollman received her BA from Hood College, MLA from Johns Hopkins, & took classes at MD Institute & Goucher College. She held teaching & management positions in Baltimore. Jane is a member of Working Artists Forum & Talbot County Arts Council. She received awards in Local Color & Chesapeake College shows. She accepts commissions.
 
Joanne Boughner made her debut locally in 2006, fetching the top bid of the Banner Auction. She exhibits at the Lu-Ev Gallery, the Academy of the Arts, and galleries in Rochester and Savannah. She donates her talents to many Oxford community projects. Her colorful award-winning paintings reflect Eastern Shore life.
 
Dian Breza, a graduate from Fashion Institute of Technology in NY, was a Fashion Designer in New York and Paris for 12 years, and a Jewelry Designer in London for 7 years. She’s been an art instructor for children at the Academy Art Museum since moving to Easton.
 
Helen Cardiff grew up in a family of artists in Talbot County and the maritime provinces of Canada. Her goal is to continually motivate herself to expand her artistic ability. She has been teaching children’s art classes at Academy Art Museum for seven years.
 
Katie Cassidy is a noted teacher of multiple art disciplines at the Academy Art Museum and other local art centers. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in art and is well known for her comprehensive knowledge of the basics and techniques of many mediums, especially charcoal and pastel.
 
Will Cook is a life-long resident of MD & recently retired from a 35-year career managing software development programs in the aerospace industry. Since retiring, his artistic activities have focused on oil painting. Will is a member of St. Michaels Art League, the Working Artists Forum, & he is a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.
 
Dudley Davis paints scenes in watercolor, acrylic & oils. Since retiring & moving to Wittman, painting has become a huge part of his life. Richard A. K. Dorbin credits his visual roots to growing up in Santa Fe, NM & experiencing the work of Paul Strand, Elliott Porter & George Tice. He has been published in several books. He works in the Mid-Atlantic, producing an eclectic body of work, including portrait, food, corporate, editorial, product, & architectural photography.
 
Rose E. W. Doster is a licensed professional artist working in all media. She attended MD Institute College of Art & lives on the Eastern Shore preparing exhibits of historical buildings “en plein aire”. Rose accepts commissions of portraits of homes, farms & pets. The banner, “Rooster’s family” is a companion to last year’s “Rooster”.
 
Madeline Eli attended Housatanic Community College & Silvermine Art School in CT. She is a signature member of Pastel Society of America, MD Pastel Society & CT Pastel Society. She’s a member of Friday Morning Artists in Easton, Talbot County Visual Arts Center, Working Artists Forum Easton, St. Michaels Art League & others in the area.
 
Bill Elliott started painting in l956 and has been painting full-time since 1991. He works mainly in oils and acrylics and concentrates on nautical scenes, landscapes, and still life. He is a member of the Friday Morning Artists and Talbot County Visual Artists.
 
Laura Era was raised on the Eastern Shore, and has been an artist since birth. She has taken workshops from Daniel Greene, Burton Silverman, and Raoul Middleman. She has painted hundreds of portraits on commission in pastel and oils and teaches classes and workshops. She is co-owner of Troika Gallery Fine Art Studio.
 
Patty Fisher thrives on bright color & eclectic style & has been painting in oil most of her life. Her style has never been set, she simply has a passion for painting pet portraits, local scenes & those from her travels around the world! Paintings are available at Latitude 38 Restaurant, Oxford, & her home/studio, 218 S. Hanson, Easton.
 
Ann Ford and her husband moved from Easton to Raleigh, NC where she taught and exhibited art for twenty years. They moved back to Easton in 1995 after Ann retired from teaching to be with family who live here. Ann has participated in the Banner auction since its inception. She is presently teaching art at the Talbot Senior Center.

Pam Foss is a well known sculptor having created more than 20 limited edition bronze sculptures & accomplished several large bronzes that are on display nationally. Most recently Pam has been creating a new series of critically acclaimed works in cast paper. Pam lives & works in Easton on South Street across from the Academy Art Museum.
 
Perry Foster “It is my aim to try to catch a piece of this unique area of flat land, shining water and uncommon light and depict its ever changing moods on canvas. Through my paintings, I hope to stop time to enable others to share with me the beauty and serenity I find in the fields, marshes, rivers and natural world that surround me”.
 
Matt Ghrist is an art teacher at Easton Elementary School. “Teaching art for me is all about giving students the freedom to explore their creative abilities. From crayon to clay, students love to express themselves visually. Their work inspires me! Painting is the modem of choice that is forgiving, full of color and intensity.”
 
David Grafton is an American Landscape Painter/Teacher; is in the Pastel Society of America; the Allied Artists of N.Y.; the National Arts Club Woodmere, PA; Phillips Mill, PA; NYU, Greenville Center for the Arts, NC; won the Lee Lawrie Award 2006 from the Academy Art Museum; and has been a Gallery owner in Easton, MD for 6 years.

Mathew Hiller is an English artist living in Tunis Mills with his wife, Julia Rogers. He studied wildlife illustration in college & spent years illustrating books. He makes his living painting for galleries & publishers & has traveled widely in search of animal subjects. He finds the boats & birds of the Chesapeake Bay very inspiring.
 
Martha Holthausen is a resident of Easton and paints in oil and watercolor. She has a BFA degree from Ohio State University, studied at the Philadelphia Museum School, Corcoran School of Art and numerous master oil painting workshops. Martha is a member of Working Artists Forum and was Artist in Residence at Yosemite National Park.
 
Linda Kirvan is a native of Washington, D.C. where she attended school and studied art and design at local colleges and universities as well as with instructors throughout the country. She has worked in oils, watercolor and printmaking. Her love of nature and the outdoors is a perfect fit with Plein Air painting.
 
Kathy Kopec began to take her painting more seriously after moving to the Eastern Shore from New Jersey. She finds the landscape and the vibrant energy of the art community inspiring. Attending the workshops & demonstrations by talented artists has been invaluable. Her success at the 2007 Banner Auction encouraged her to try it again.
 
Diane Laukenmann of Easton, MD is a member of the Working Artists Forum, the Friday Morning Artist group, the Plein Air Painters of The Eastern Shore, the St. Michaels Art League, and others in the Delmarva region. Diane studied Art & Art History at Towson State University and was a student of renowned national artists.
 
Ken Lehman prefers to paint the images with which he grew up. A painting is a success if it brings back a sense of place to him. His paintings are represented by Troika Gallery in Easton.
 
Mary Ellen Mabehas been painting on an amateur basis for many years. She has attended classes at The Studio in the Woods while living outside Chicago. Since moving to the Eastern Shore in 2004 she has been a participant in several workshops given by various artists-teachers.
 
Joanne Magruder came to Easton from Montgomery County, MD. She works primarily in watercolor, mixed water media, pastels and monoprints. In addition to still life, pastoral scenes, and abstracts, Joanne also specializes in paintings with children’s themes. Her work is represented in the Local Color show this year.
 
Robert Manning is best known for his paintings of local bins and barns; the rapidly disappearing landscape of the Eastern Shore. He has received numerous awards and commissions, and he paints regularly with the Plein Air Painters of the Eastern Shore while continuing a career in graphic design.

Joe Mayer is the owner of Studio Gallery in Easton. He won awards in the Mid-Atlantic Watercolor Competition & Plein Air Competition (2005 & 2006). Joe’s paintings are exhibited at Corcoran Gallery, Baltimore Museum, & Studio 54 in N.Y.C. He’s a cartoonist with Cochran Publishing, Kendall Hunt Publishers & Amacon Publishing in N.Y.C.
 
Wallace A. McGarry studied art at the Chounard Art Institute before starting a successful thirty-five year career in advertising/illustration in Los Angeles. After retiring to the Eastern Shore he has taught many local classes and workshops for those interested in learning to paint in oil.
 
Diane DuBois Mullaly attended Tyler School of Art of Temple University, worked as an art director for women’s fashion stores & as a graphic designer in NYC. Her passion is capturing the landscape & its inhabitants in oil–studies in plein air & miniatures in her studio in Caroline County. Diane is represented by South Street Art Gallery
 
Dorothy Newland is co-owner of Troika Gallery Fine Art Studio in Easton. She works mainly in oil paint. “Her bold and vigorous images have demanded numerous awards in wider & wider areas.” She attended PA University of Art & the MD Institute College of Art. She studied extensively with master painters & in workshops throughout the east.
 
Phillip Ridenour, a native of Northern Indiana, currently resides with his wife, Margie, in Denton, MD. Mr. Ridenour is a teacher for Caroline County Schools and is active in Easton Church of the Brethren. His interests include reading, boating, naval history and boat design.

Julia Rogers “Growing up on the Chesapeake Bay had a strong influence on my painting. After art college and work as a graphic designer, I evolved into an oil painter. I paint a variety of subjects & have traveled widely in Africa and Europe in search of subjects. I live with my artist husband and family in Tunis Mills.”
 
Patrick Rogan has exhibited paintings in group and solo exhibitions in the DC area including the Anton gallery, George Mason University and Signal 66. He received an MFA in Painting from Catholic University and has taught visual art on the adjunct faculty of Marymount University and George Washington University.
 
Maggii Sarfaty is a fine artist, muralist and decorative painter. She was trained at Maryland Institute College of Art and has been painting professionally for 20 years. Maggii lives in Easton with her husband, Dave and two children.
 
Jeanne Saulsbury is a past president of Working Artists Forum and a member of the steering committee for Plein Air Easton. In addition, she is a partner and exhibitor in The Artists' Gallery in Chestertown, MD. Jeanne and her husband, Orrell, live in Ridgely, MD where she can be found painting in her Shady Grove Studio.
 
Willie Schlossbach is an oil painter & is influenced by the work of Edward Hopper, Andrew Wyeth & Georgia O’Keefe. He’s been in the Easton Banner program since its inception & participants in the Oxford Invitational Fine Arts Festival. Mr. Schlossbach has a studio/gallery in Cambridge & teaches at Dorchester Art Center in Cambridge.
 
Joel Shilliday has been sketching, painting & creating
since he can remember. The first thing he ever doodled was a shark.
The second thing was most likely a dog. Joel is an officer with the
Shark Research Institute & owns a web design & multimedia development
business in Easton.
 
Nancy Tankersley & her husband are the owners of the South Street Art Gallery, where she has a studio. Known for her figurative work, most lately her scenes of restaurant life, Nancy is also an accomplished landscape painter. She is a member of the Washington Society of Landscape Painters & was juried into Plein Air Easton! 2008.
 
Katie Theeke paints primarily in oils & much of her work has a narrative quality. She enjoys painting landscapes & scenes that depict everyday moments. She studied at the University of Michigan & Florence, Italy; graduating with a BFA in 1995. She taught art at the Bullis School in Potomac, MD. Katie lives with her family in Easton.
 
Jennifer Heyd Wharton has earned recognition as one of the best known artists in Maryland, and through her unique perspective in color and texture, she is rapidly gaining attention throughout the U.S. She graduated from Moore College of Art and co-owns Troika Gallery Fine Art Studio in Easton.
 
Karen Wood is an oil painter who works primarily en plein air. She is a member of the Working Artist’s Forum and Plein Air Painters of the Eastern Shore, and was an artist in Easton’s Plein Air Festival and Competition in 2005, 2007 and 2008.
